CAMPING
CLUB
The Sons of the
Beaches Camping Club is a group of RV owners who like to camp in
the Southern California area and enjoy the camaraderie of their
fellow Elk members.
Each camping family takes a turn at being the Trail Boss, who plans
the weekend, which includes where, when (usually the second weekend
of each month), the activities and food. A general business meeting
is held on Sunday mornings to insure that there is someone designated
as the Trail Boss for the same month next year and to review the
campout and plan the events of the club for the near-term.
A monthly newsletter
is published which includes general news, news of the campout just
held and details of future campout locations and dates. The current
issue is posted on the bulletin board on the south wall in the bar.
You are welcome
to give us a try, as a guest, to see for yourself what we are all
about; just ask a member for details.
Our Wagonmaster
(president) for the year 2008/2009 is Don Wahner
Our Assistant Wagonmaster for the year 2008/2009 is Harvey Langham
GUN
CLUB
The Sons of
the Beaches Gun Club is a group of Huntington Beach Elks that share a common interest
in Guns, Shooting and Hunting. Some of our Elks ladies also join us for our monthly
shooting excursions. We enjoy comparing notes on guns that we own and like to
shoot. We are dedicated to teach any in our Elks family, including wives and children,
the delicate nuances of firearms and we strongly manifest firearm safety. We have
an enormous background of knowledge in firearms and can answer any and all questions
about shooting, hunting and reloading of ammunition. We
have an indoor range close to the Huntington Beach Elks lodge and frequent that
establishment very often. Please do not be shy; join us for any questions or advice.
Our RangeMaster
for the year 2008/2009 is Mack Duncan
COIN
CLUB
The Sons
of the Beaches Coin Club is an informal group that likes to compare collectible
coins and Numismatic specimens. Most of us have had the coin collecting passion
for many years and desire to share the enjoyment of Numismatics with our Huntington
Beach Elk family. Some of our members have experience in coin collecting and grading
of coins, both domestic and world coins. If you have any coins that you would
like to know more about, we are here to provide some expertise and knowledge about
this fascinating hobby. We have references and up-to-date prices and histories
of the minting of coins. Join us for our informal gatherings.
Our Numismatist
for the year 2008/2009 is Mack Duncan
